Found this at on a computer at my apartment.
When I was in the 10th grade I broke my ankle playing football right before the season started. I had to wear a boot and use crutches for about seven weeks.
Homecoming came earlier than usual that year and I didn’t plan on asking anyone, considering my condition. But, a girl in my grade asked me to go with her. I politely turned her down and thanked her for asking, saying that I shouldn’t go on crutches.
A few days before the dance, my mom was talking to a mom-friend of hers who had a daughter at my school in the 11th grade. This girl didn’t have a date to the dance and was pretty bummed about it and my mom felt bad for her. So mom comes home and tells me that I should take this girl to the dance so she wouldn’t be left out.
I went to a small school, but I had never talked to this girl in my life. Plus, rumor had it that she was really awkward. All I had was her home phone number, so I called her up and asked her to the dance, completing our first ever conversation.
I was 15 and had a broken ankle so I couldn’t pick her up the night of the dance. So my mom dropped me off at her house for pictures. Then we got in her car and she drove me to the school.
Small talk in the car + awkward dancing while wearing a big boot + seeing the girl I said I couldn’t go with = a heck of a homecoming dance.
Given Jesse’s new phone, this person is repping Breaking Bad more than they realize.
